The Northern Ireland Ombudsman's Office is committed to being, in its attitudes, operations, policies and processes, an open and accountable public organisation. It is therefore the intention of the Office to publish as much information as possible in order to improve the understanding of the role and work of the Office and helps strengthen confidence in that work.

Under Section 19 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 all public authorities, including the Northern Ireland Ombudsman's Office, have a duty to maintain a Publication Scheme outlining what information they publish, how it is made available, and whether this information will be available free of charge or on payment. The Office has such a Publication Scheme.

All of the publications which are available from this Website are listed in our Publications List.

Should you have queries regarding the information published by the Office, or if you experience difficulties accessing any of the publications do not hesitate to contact the Office.

I have also produced an information leaflet, which includes a complaint form and this can be obtained from my Office. This leaflet is available in Arabic, Chinese, Hindi and Urdu. It is also available as an audio cassette and in large print format.
